Developing Thrive Off Trauma

Thrive Off Trauma is to replace the former Simple Solutions Care, a Limited Liability Company that I formerly held the title of Chief Executive Officer and Practice Manager for a wonderful Licensed Mental Health Counselor. During my time in this position, I mastered multiple skills that I know will be used and are necessary for running a private mental health practice. I will briefly outline a few of those skills below and then dive into my projected development plan.

For ease of story flow, all of the works I have done will be further considered as my skill set & mastered skills.

First, some background information. Tyler Michael is the name I used as much as legally possible as practice manager for Inner Peace Counseling & Wellness, LLC., which has/had a Legal Fictitious Name (dba) SimpleSolutions, shortly after I updated the name to be Simple Solutions Care, LLC. This is where I mastered most of my compliance and corporation fillings and administrative skills.

I knew a successful medical practice would have all of the tools already implemented since, well, they are successful. So, Why recreate the wheel? I’d been dealing with medical practices my entire life thanks to my own medical history. First thing, customers need direction in any business. Knowing early on that I didn’t want to repeat myself a million times with the complicated signing up process, I Googled how to set up an automated phone line.

I included that link to show both, how, and the multiple search results that come up. Seems like a lot right? Let me save you the time. For a simple set up, use iPlum. For a more complex, yet still very simple with more robust features, MY personal preference, and always go to when I recommend service is RingRX. Using their tutorials and set up videos, I was able to set up an automated agent that directed the customers to the right department and had thorough signing up steps as soon as they called in. It makes me sad to say that my former 1-888-732-2313 -> 888-PEACE-13, is no longer going to be active, however I used IPlum’s features in selecting the number and then ported it through multiple carriers before deciding on RingRX. I sure hope they let me get a new account as I don’t believe I will be able to salvage the billing in time.

The former practitioner had a website already set up, so transitioning to the new sites information wasn’t all that difficult. Throughout this whole process, I knew I had to maintain COMPLETE HIPAA Compliance, meaning I had to maintain any and all data, in a remote accessible secure and logged manner for the next 7 years. (For the record, I have 6 years to go 💪)

Side-note: Any former patients, team members, or clinicians needing access to their data is required to make contact to Solutions and with proper verification can have a link sent with access permissions to a file containing any and all data ever managed by Tyler Michael, Thrive Off Trauma, Simple Solutions Care or Inner Peace.

Next was to tackle the Big Kahuna, credentialing and contracting with insurance companies. I knew the mission, so tackling it wasn’t too terrible. Because of Covid, A lot of things were being directed to online accessibility faster than before; at least in my eyes. So that was my tackle point. Fill out as much documentation online or by printing out and submitting as possible. Again, resorting to Google, I researched How to credential and contract with insurance companies.

I’d search both ways, in a general manner and then in a more direct manner using the exact insurance payers name in the Google Search. I then followed directions. One of the biggest and easiest foots in the doors, was starting with EAP Payers or Employee Assistance Program Payers. A good way to search that is by searching Google for a list of EAP Providers in your State. Honestly, the rest was just maintaining everything.

Oh. CAQH. Honestly, I’m hoping that everyone would have read up until this point and that I don’t have to move this block to the top of this blog.

CAQHCAQH ProView is more than a credentialing database. Available at no cost to you, CAQH ProView eliminates duplicative paperwork with organizations that require your professional and practice information for claims administration, credentialing, directory services, and more.

Yeah you’re going to want to start with CAQH!
